Made by Fatty Alcohol (C14) and Dimethylamine, via liquid-phase catalytic amination under 180~120℃ to remove one molecule of water, resulting in DMA 14 through vacuum distillation.

Application
- Used as intermediates of quaternary ammonium salt – cationic surfactants. Can react with Ethylene Oxide, Dimethyl Sulfate, Diethyl Sulfate, Chloromethane, Benzyl Chloride to generate different quaternary ammonium salts.
- Can react with Sodium Chloroacetate to get Alkyl betaine zwitterionic surfactant.
- Can react with Hydrogen Peroxide to get Amine Oxide products.
- Used as an important intermediate for synthesizing Vitamin E.
- Used for manufacturing fiber detergents, fabric softeners, asphalt emulsifiers, dye oil additives, metal rust inhibitors, anti-static agents, etc.
