    Description

    Cetyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride CAS NO. 112-02-7, also called Hexadecyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride, Cetrimonium Chloride, CTAC. Assay 99% powder or 70%/50% in Ethanol or 30% in Water. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in Ethanol or Isopropanol aqueous solution. Store in a dark, cool, dry, and ventilated place. Melting point 232-234℃. Made from Cetyl Dimethyl Amine and Methyl Chloride by quaternization reaction.

    Application

    • Used as Phase transfer catalysts in organic synthesis chemistry, in antioxidant, metals extract, transfering catalyzer, surfactant.
    • Textile industry: used as a softener, antistatic agent, and bactericide to improve the feel of fabrics, reduce static electricity generation, and kill bacteria.
    • Daily chemical products: used to prepare personal care products such as shampoo, shower gel, and hand sanitizer, which have cleaning, sterilizing, and conditioning effects.
    • Oilfield exploitation: As a drilling fluid additive, it is used to improve the stability and inhibition of drilling fluid, reduce the dispersion of drilling cuttings and the formation of mud cakes.
    • Water treatment: As a fungicide and flocculant, it is used for the sterilization treatment of industrial circulating cooling water and the purification treatment of sewage.
